Your feedback wanted: New Smartphone app for Blue Badge parking

I am writing to invite you to a meeting on Friday 15 January to hear about a new project to help make parking easier for Blue Badge holders in Reading.

Reading Borough Council has been invited to join an EU Project called SIMON which is building a Smartphone app to help with navigation and finding a vacant Blue Badge parking space in the town. This app will need to be tested by local people to ensure it meets their needs.

Ideally we would like you to come along to the meeting to find out more about the app and possibly to volunteer to give feedback on how it works for you and what needs to be done to make the app more suitable and easier to use. This will enable the app to be changed and adapted according to your recommendations ahead of it being released for public use.

The meeting will take place at the Civic Offices on Bridge Street on Friday 15 January at 2.30 – 3.30 pm in the Council Chamber. In order to accommodate any access or other needs you may have, please contact me:

Alternatively, you are very welcome to turn up on the day or to contact me by phone, letter or email to find out more about the project and how to volunteer and I will be happy to help you.

BSL interpretation will be available at the meeting.

If your organisation works closely with Blue Badge holders, please feel free to share this information with your contacts.
