The BMSTC Link group organaised another very successful Summer Fayre and Plant Sale raising a huge £ 1,218.55p! There is still money coming in from plant sales so we weill post the grand total raised once the plants have all been sold!
BMSTC Patron Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee came along to support the event and officially opened the Fayre. There is coverage of the event in this weeks Reading Evening Post including a picture of "Alfie" one of BMSTC newest supporters!
Our thanks go to the Link Group and the very many volunteers who gave up their time to help, leading up to the day with publicity, and for all of the hard work on the day and the clear up after the event! We greatly appreiciate your time, effort and ongoing support.

Tall Ship In Thames As Royal Vessels Revealed

River Pageant organisers will announce later today which vessels will carry members of the royal family during the Diamond Jubilee extravaganza on June 3.
Also set to be revealed are the best vantage points and the other vessels taking part along the 7.5-mile route.
Boats and ships from across the world have begun their journeys to London for the River Thames pageant, including the Southampton-based tall-ship Tenacious. Watch video footage on Sky News here!

Acorn 120 Deluxe Stair Lift
One of our members has an Acorn 120 Deluxe Stair Lift available as they are
clearing out her father-in-law’s house (standard straight up stairs!).
Purchased 2008. Willing to offer it for a donation to the Centre.
Acorn will remove it, reinstall it and make any necessary
adjustments for a flat fee of £300 if the recipient is not able to do this themselves.

MS Society Grants
The MS Society can give grants towards items you may need as a result of your MS, if there is no health or social services funding available.
We can help with things like:
- home and car adaptations
- mobility aids, wheelchairs and other specialised equipment
- driving lessons for a person with MS or their carer
- short breaks and respite care
- activities for adult carers, including hobbies or courses
- grants for young carers to help with things like music lessons, school trips and sports equipment

Draft social care bill announced
A draft bill on overhauling care and
support for elderly and disabled people in England has been announced in the
Queen's Speech.
The bill will put "people in control of their care and give them greater

Limited Government commitment to improve neurological services
Widespread disappointment as few recommendations will be implemented
In March this year, the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee (PAC) published its report on services for people with neurological conditions highlighting a lack of leadership, drive, focus and direction in services at both national and local level.
